1/10/2023

(January 10, 2022) – Lathrop GPM today announced Laura Reathaford as the new Partner in Charge of the firm’s Los Angeles office. Reathaford takes over as Partner in Charge from Nancy Sher Cohen, who will return to her practice full time.

“Choosing Laura as our next Los Angeles Partner in Charge was a natural choice,” said Sher Cohen. “Laura is an incredible leader and part of the fabric of our culture in the LA office. She exemplifies what it means to be a leader at Lathrop GPM and her colleagues and clients alike admire that about her.”

In her new role, Reathaford will be at the helm of Los Angeles office’s growth and visibility in the market, building on its existing capabilities in strategic areas of litigation, intellectual property, franchise, labor & employment, and environmental tort.

“I’m thrilled to be given this leadership opportunity, and it’s particularly meaningful as one of few L&E attorneys in a management position at large, full-service firms,” said Reathaford. “Growth, visibility, and longevity of Lathrop GPM in the local and regional market is the top priority, and investing in our lawyers and the culture of the office will be a key to our success in meeting our growth goals. I look forward to being at the forefront of those conversations in my new role as Partner in Charge.”

Reathaford leads the firm’s California Employment practice, providing labor and employment legal services to the firm’s California-based clients and clients with California-based employees. She focuses her practice on wage and hour class and collective actions with a particular emphasis on representative actions under California’s Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA). Reathaford frequently presents at Bar Association programs and Employment & Labor Law Seminars, authors articles for leading legal and regional publications, and is a respected source for reporters in Los Angeles and the L&E industry.

Reathaford has been recognized for her impressive work in the labor & employment industry by the Daily Journal as one of the Top 100 Women Lawyers in California in 2018 and by the Los Angeles Business Journal as a Top Woman Attorney in 2020. She also was recognized by Benchmark Litigation as a Labor & Employment Star from 2019-2022.
