Schmitt and McCallon Recognized as Up & Coming Lawyers
Missouri Lawyers Weekly recently announced the winners of the 2014 Up & Coming Awards. Lathrop Gage Partner, Eric S. Schmitt (Business Litigation – St. Louis), was selected as a winner in the public service category. Partner, Travis W. McCallon (Intellectual Property Litigation - Kansas City) was selected as an overall winner in the Up & Coming class.
Up & Coming Awards recognize lawyers who are 40 or younger, or within the first 10 years of practice who demonstrate excellence in their practice area as well as commitment to the legal profession and their communities. See the full list of honorees here.
Schmitt focuses his practice on real estate and litigation matters and has litigated dozens of land use cases as well as myriad other matters from general real estate and business disputes to administrative appeals and condemnation cases in federal and state court. A current Missouri Senator, he recently announced his candidacy for Missouri State Treasurer in 2016.
McCallon focuses his practice on intellectual property counseling and litigation, primarily concerning patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. He has advised clients and lobbyists concerning the drafting of significant federal trademark and copyright legislation, some of which was signed into law.
