Landlord and Tenant Disputes

We serve as primary regional counsel for a number of commercial developers and landlords in the documentation and enforcement of their rights against commercial tenants. This includes documenting modified and new lease transactions to remedy:

  • Lease defaults
  • Accelerating leases
  • Rent and possession
  • Unlawful detainer
  • Eviction actions 

We work with our clients to secure possession of the premises either peacefully or with law enforcement assistance. We also assist landlords through the bankruptcy process in connection with: obtaining payment of post-petition rents, the assumption or rejection of leases, maximizing the client’s return on allowable administrative expenses prior to a debtor-tenant’s rejection of the lease and prosecution of lease rejection damages claims.
