Steven Graham, John Coghlan Led Missouri Bankers Association Annual Bank Legal Issues Conference
Lathrop Gage attorney H. Steven Graham (Financial Institutions - Kansas City) moderated the Missouri Bankers Association's 16th annual Bank Legal Issues Conference in Columbia, Mo., October 29-30, while the firm's John Coghlan (Bankruptcy - Kansas City) spoke on "Loan Workouts in the Wake of the Financial Meltdown on the first day of programming. Mr. Graham currently serves as Chairman of the Bank Counsel Section Advisory Board of the MBA.
Substantive sessions for the two-day conference included issues related to consumer law, human resources, criminal liability, and other topics of immediate concern for bankers. The Missouri Bankers Association was founded in August of 1891 and includes in its membership commercial banks and savings and loan associations representing over 1800 banking locations and over 30,000 bank employees in the state of Missouri.
Mr. Graham's principal focus is on financial and corporate transactions. He has a broad range of expertise involving all aspects of financing for both lender and borrower, general corporate law, real estate transactions, and banking law, including all aspects of the credit relationship, regulatory matters and operational matters. He has managed the Financial Institutions Department of the firm for many years.
Mr. Coghlan's bankruptcy experience has included working on various aspects of Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases, including secured creditors, debtors and unsecured creditors' committees representations. Prior to joining the firm, he served as Vice President and Underwriting Counsel for Stewart Title Guaranty Company.
