Lathrop Gage’s Chicago Office Welcomes George Wu to its Intellectual Property Team
Lathrop Gage is pleased to welcome George T. Wu, Ph.D., joining the firm’s Chicago office as Of Counsel. Wu joins Lathrop Gage’s Intellectual Property group, bringing more than 14 years of experience, especially skilled in the areas of biomedical-related matters and cutting-edge technologies. He also counsels clients on patent applications as well as trademark and copyright registrations, specifically in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, chemical and medical device industries. Additionally, Wu is fluent in Chinese and is well-versed in representing clients that conduct business primarily in Asia as well as Asian clients looking to do business in the United States.
Most recently, Wu was a partner with the Chicago-based full-service Intellectual Property law firm McAndrews, Held & Malloy Ltd, where he counseled clients in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device and information and system technology industries regarding patent applications/prosecutions and trademark and copyright registrations, and in Inter Partes reviews at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
Wu received his Ph.D., in Molecular Biology, from Weill Cornell Medical College in New York, 2007, and his Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law in New York, 2005. He received his M.S., in Microbiology and Immunology, from Stanford University, 1994, and his B.A., in Molecular & Cellular Biology, from the University of California, Berkeley, 1992.
