Lathrop Gage Welcomes Reid Day to Business Litigation Team in Kansas City
Day previously served for two years as a law clerk for the Hon. Judge Ortrie Smith of the U.S. District Court, Western District of Missouri. In that role, he managed a docket of substantively diverse cases from initial filling through post-trial motion practice and drafted judicial opinions on every aspect of federal district trial court litigation. In addition, Day worked as a Summer Associate for Lathrop Gage during law school, and gained experience drafting memoranda on range of substantive and procedural civil litigation matters, and also assisted in pre-suit investigation of potential product liability claims.
Day received his Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas School of Law, 2016, where he received five CALI Excellence for the Future Awards, a Payne & Jones Lawyering Program Award and was Articles Editor for Kansas Law Review. Prior to law school, Day worked in Washington D.C. for two U.S. Representatives and for the Center for Democracy & Technology, an international non-profit focused on data privacy and technology issues. Day received his B.A. in Psychology from the University of Kansas (2009).
