Lathrop Gage Attorney Amy Brozenic Appointed to International Trademark Association's Harmonization of Trademark Law and Practice Committee

Kansas City (January 8, 2018) – Amy Brozenic, a partner in Lathrop Gage’s intellectual property division and team leader of the firm’s Trademark/Copyright Transactional practice group, has been appointed to a committee of the International Trademark Association (INTA).

Brozenic will serve on INTA’s Harmonization of Trademark Law and Practice Committee. The committee evaluates efforts on national, regional and international levels through treaties, trade agreements, special conventions and other nonbinding instruments related to trademark law and practice. The committee completes analyses and proposes policy recommendations to the INTA board of directors. Work includes drafting proposed treaty language and advocating INTA’s existing policy positions to relevant government officials.

INTA is a global association with members from more than 7,000 organizations from 190 countries. INTA works to support trademarks and intellectual property for the protection of consumers and to promote fair trade and effective commerce.

Brozenic began her legal career practicing at the United States Patent & Trademark Office as a trademark examining attorney, where she examined thousands of trademark applications to ensure compliance with the Lanham Act and USPTO procedural requirements.

She currently counsels clients on all areas of trademark portfolio management, including domestic and international trademark registration strategies; policing and enforcement procedures, and licensing of trademarks and copyrights.

Her term began on January 1, 2018 and concludes on December 31, 2019.
