Jean Paul Bradshaw and Kurt Schaefer to Speak at Swine Institute

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (October 24, 2011) – Lathrop Gage partners Jean Paul Bradshaw (Tort – Kansas City) and Kurt Schaefer (Environmental – Jefferson City) are speaking at the University of Missouri Extension Commercial Agriculture Program’s 2011 Swine Institute: Missouri Industry Outlook. Bradshaw and Schaefer speak at 1:30 p.m. on November 8 at the Stoney Creek Inn in Columbia, Mo.

The Institute will discuss the market outlook for the hog industry in the United States and globally, as well as issues the industry is currently facing such as the rising cost of feed, and domestic and export demands. Bradshaw and Schaefer will speak during the Institute’s session on nuisance laws. Bradshaw will cover “New Nuisance Laws: What do they mean?” and Schaefer will discuss “Steps Needed to Address a Personal Nuisance Lawsuit.”

Bradshaw concentrates his practice in business litigation and tort, particularly in agricultural cases, white collar criminal defense, and health care. He has a Martindale-Hubbell “AV” rating, has been selected among the Missouri/Kansas Super Lawyers, The Best Lawyers in America, and named a “Leading Lawyer” by Chambers USA.

Schaefer concentrates his practice in litigation, environmental, health care, administrative, business and public utilities. He is currently a state senator for the 19th district of Missouri, and the former general counsel and deputy director of the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
