Gerald M. Sill Joins Lathrop Gage as Of Counsel

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (October 1, 2011) – Gerald M. Sill has joined Lathrop Gage as of counsel the firm announced today. He will concentrate his practice in the healthcare department and will be located in the firm’s Jefferson City office.

Sill brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to assist the firm’s healthcare industry clients. Most recently Sill served as senior vice president and general counsel for the Missouri Hospital Association and prior to that position he was the vice president of legal affairs for the association. He was the permanent secretary/treasurer and board member of the Missouri Society of Hospital Attorneys – which he founded in 1981 – where he also wrote and published a monthly healthcare law newsletter. Sill is currently a member of the Health and Hospital Law Committee for the Missouri Bar, and was on the board of directors for the Mid-Missouri Medical Foundation.

He also previously served as the assistant attorney general for the state of Missouri, representing various state agencies. He was a member of the board of directors for the Missouri Society of Governmental Consultants. Sill currently is an adjunct professor for the University of Missouri’s Department of Health Management and Informatics, for which he received the Outstanding Professor Award in 1994. He was formerly an adjunct professor at A.T. Still University in Kirksville, Mo.

He received a bachelor of arts in history and his juris doctorate from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
