Kurt W. Greve

Kurt Greve focuses his practice on civil litigation, at both a national and state level, in the areas of toxic and mass tort, product liability, personal injury, and general business litigation. Kurt also specializes in matters involving medical malpractice and business personal property tax. He has represented numerous clients in a range of matters including matters of business damages in excess of seven figures. Kurt has extensive experience in managing complex civil litigation and extensive trial dockets throughout the state of Texas. Kurt's representative experience includes: 

Business Property Tax

  • Kurt has litigated significant matters involving the minimization of business personal property (BPP) tax liability and the maximization of tax savings. Kurt has extensive experience with various high value exemptions applicable to many corporations who seek to minimize the tax implications associated with maintaining inventory within the appraisal districts jurisdiction that ultimately is moved outside of the state of Texas. Kurt also has knowledge of various depreciation models that can be utilized to minimize a corporation’s business personal property tax liability to local municipalities.
  • Kurt can assist corporations minimize their tax liability through various techniques associated with (1) preparation and validation of BPP tax data; (2) BPP tax record review; (3) return preparation and filing; (4) negotiations with taxing authorities; (5) assessment reviews; (6) representation during the formal appeals process; as well as (7) budgeting and accrual.

Healthcare/Medical Malpractice

  • Kurt has extensive experience litigating medical malpractice claims filed against healthcare providers within the state of Texas. Kurt has successfully litigated challenges to Chapter 74 qualifying medical reports related to motions seeking dismissal of claims. Kurt has developed numerous expert witnesses  as part of his practice and has successfully defended their qualifications and opinions before various trial courts within the state. Kurt has successfully defended physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and pharmacies as part of his practice.

Anti-SLAPP litigation

  • Kurt has litigated substantive provisions to Texas’ Anti-SLAPP statute designed to protect news agencies and new groups from costly litigation tactics designed to outspend and outlast those entities exercising their constitutional rights to free speech and free association. Kurt has also litigated application of the Texas Anti-SLAPP statute to contract claims as well as claims involving business fraud, tortious interference, misappropriation of trade secrets, and quantum merit.  Kurt also has extensive experience litigating the application of the fee shifting penalties associated with the statute.

Commercial Litigation

  • Kurt has represented multiple corporate entities in various business litigation matters including breach of contract, corporate fraud, tortious interference, promissory estoppel, and misappropriation of trade secrets. 

Talc Litigation

  • Kurt has extensive experience litigating talc related matters before the Texas Asbestos Multi-District Court. Kurt also has extensive knowledge of the mineralogical issues related to personal injury claims alleged to have been caused by talc.

Kurt is also a black belt in judo and was formerly an officer for Texas Judo, Inc. Kurt is currently a board member for the Fort Worth Judo Club.
