Charles F. Myers

Mr. Myers devoted his practice to issues involving healthcare law and has been selected by his peers for the Health Care Law Section of The Best Lawyers in America® since the inception of that section in 1991.

He focused his practice on the representation of hospitals (including not-for-profit, governmental, and for-profit hospitals), affiliated entities of hospitals, health systems and a hospital association. His practice included all aspects of a general healthcare practice, including Medicare fraud and abuse, the Stark Law, including self reporting, physician contracting, joint ventures, certificate of need, government regulatory compliance, hospital medical staff issues, and a full range of legal services faced by hospitals and related business entities. He represented governmental hospitals and has served on the board of a major metropolitan hospital. His representation included representation of a major metropolitan ambulance service and issues involving emergency services. Mr. Myers has extensive experience in governmental relations at the local and state level.

Mr. Myers is a trained mediator having completed the American Health Lawyers Association ADR Mediator Training and Advanced Mediation training. He is also a trained arbitrator and has completed the American Health Lawyers Arbitration Training (The Essentials of Arbitrating a Health Care Dispute) and has served on several arbitration panels.

He is a past chair of the Lathrop Gage Healthcare Department.

Mr. Myers served on the City Plan Commission of Kansas City, Missouri from 1991 to 2010, serving as chair for 11 years and vice chair for four years.
