Rick Shearer
Rick Shearer is an associate in the business litigation department. Mr. Shearer counsels and litigates for clients in a variety of complex general litigation matters, with a focus on business disputes and white collar compliance and criminal defense. Mr. Shearer has represented various companies and individuals in connection with the defense of criminal, civil and administrative proceedings. His experience includes disputes arising from general business transactions, director and officer liability claims, shareholder disputes, accountants’ liability, and a variety of breach of contract and fraud claims throughout the United States. He has assisted on matters involving investigations by the Internal Revenue Service and the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, Federal and State False Claims Acts, and federal criminal investigations involving the federal bribery statute. Mr. Shearer has been admitted pro hac vice in California, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wisconsin.
