Matthew J. Rogers

Matthew Rogers is an associate on the business litigation team. Mr. Rogers represents clients in litigated and non-litigated business-to-business disputes such as, insurance disputes, professional liability matters, regulatory matters, breach of contract matters, business torts and loan enforcement actions.

Mr. Rogers joined Lathrop Gage after working as a summer associate with the firm in 2015. He also served as a judicial intern to Honorable James P. O'Hara in the United States District Court for the District of Kansas. While there, he drafted memoranda concerning dispositive matters for magistrate judges, attorney-client privilege and amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure; and assisted with the preparation of reports and recommendations.

Prior to pursuing his legal career, Mr. Rogers served for three years as a detective for the Ottawa Police Department and before that as an officer for the Gardner Police Department, also for three years.

Mr. Rogers enjoys hunting, fishing, horse trail riding and working on his family's cattle and hay farm. He also frequently participates in local church activities.
