(Intellectual Property - Denver) received good news yesterday with the successful conclusion of the 2010 Wheels of Justice cycling team fundraiser, which is co-chaired by Mr. Bradford. The team has reached the $1 million benchmark with this year's approximately $250,000 raised for The Children’s Hospital in Denver; the Wheels of Justice team is composed of members of law firms, corporations, and nonprofit organizations across Colorado.

On October 21 from 6-8 p.m., the annual Wheels of Justice Appreciation Party will take place at The Children's Hospital. Though this makes the culmination of a goal of several years for Mr. Bradford, the team shows no signs of slowing down since its inception five years ago. At that time, Mr. Bradford and Heather Purcell, with the support of both bar associations, put together a team for that event and in its first three years, the team was able to raise an impressive $563,000 for the Children’s Hospital.

This year the Wheels of Justice teams attracted more than 200 riders. Last night members of the team delivered a $6,500 check to the Children's Hospital, which brought the group over the $1M mark. Lathrop & Gage has been the premier sponsor among Denver law firms for the Wheels of Justice team, which is the highest-ranked fundraising team in the 2010 Courage Classic.

In addition to helping lead Wheels of Justice, Mr. Bradford has served as the Chair of the Colorado Pledge to Diversity, the Second Vice-President of the Denver Bar Association and the Chair of the Community Action Network. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Colorado Campaign for Inclusive Excellence and the Dean’s Diversity Counsel. He is currently serving on the Colorado Bar Association's Executive Council. Mr. Bradford is also regularly asked to serve as faculty for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. He is the 2008 recipient of the Denver Bar Association’s Young Lawyer of the Year, and recently with a month to prepare and without experts, secured a $8.5 million patent infringement verdict for a local Colorado inventor. In his career he has tried as many as 15 multi-week jury trials.
