Missouri Lawyers Weekly Recognizes Matthew Growcock
Lathrop & Gage attorney Matthew Growcock (Tort - Springfield) was named an "Up and Coming Lawyer" by Missouri Lawyers Weekly. The publication received nominations from attorneys throughout the state and evaluated attorneys under the age of 40 in terms of their service to the profession, the community, and their clients.
A graduate of the University of Nebraska College of Law, Mr. Growcock is an associate in Lathrop & Gage's tort litigation department, focusing his practice in complex, frequently emotionally charged cases involving allegations of injury to person, reputation and property. His experience is in civil trial practice concentrating in the areas of product liability, insurance, personal injury and railroad defense.
Mr. Growcock is responsible for all aspects of litigation on assigned cases, including court appearances; drafting and arguing motions including motions for summary judgment; propounding and responding to discovery requests; drafting responsive pleadings; client interaction including preparation for depositions and trial; and participating in mediations and other settlement related activities. He has drafted appellate briefs as both appellant and respondent and successfully argued in front of the Court of Appeals for the Southern District of Missouri. He has extensive experience in preparing for and conducting depositions of parties, fact witnesses, experts and medical personnel. Mr. Growcock's practice includes both bench trials and multi-day jury trials. His experience also includes analyzing complex insurance policies and drafting coverage opinions for both commercial and residential policies.
