St. Louis Business Journal Honors Eric Schmitt with 2010 Legislative Award

6/7/2010

Lathrop & Gage attorney Eric Schmitt (Real Estate - Clayton) has been honored with a 2010 "Legislative Award" from the St. Louis Business Journal. The St. Louis Business Journal recognizes those state legislators who have worked throughout the past session to help advance the agenda of the St. Louis area.

“He has already made a mark at the capitol as someone who works hard to try to make a difference for the people in his district,” Senate President Pro Tem Charlie Shields told the Business Journal earlier this year. “I believe you would be hard-pressed to find others in the St. Louis region who balance humility and influence so well.” During his 2 year service in the Missouri Senate Mr. Schmitt has been a consistent voice for economic development and job creation.

Mr. Schmitt also organized pro-autism-coverage rallies last year that attracted thousands of participants in an effort to build momentum for the most recent legislative session, which saw the passage of autism insurance reform in Missouri. Mr. Schmitt also serves on boards for Nurses for Newborns and St. Louis Crisis Nursery. His legal practice is focused on real estate matters, having litigated dozens of land use cases as well as a myriad of other matters from general real estate and business disputes to administrative appeals and condemnation cases in federal and state court. Mr. Schmitt also represents several national and local businesses as a trusted advisor and attorney.
