Doug Nickell Helps Lead National Health Care Decisions Day Seminar
Doug Nickell (Wealth Strategies - Springfield) will help lead a panel that addresses issues of law, ethics and personal responsibility, as part of National Health Care Decisions Day programming taking place in Springfield, Mo., Thursday. The seminar will take place at 7 p.m. at First and Calvary Presbyterian Church, and is sponsored by the Hospice Foundation of the Ozarks and the Community Alliance for Compassionate Care at the End of Life.
The sponsors of the event have dedicated the evening to Springfield's Donna Willoughby, a woman who spent her professional life working in health care and most recently in end-of-life care, and who died last month. In addition to a performance of the play "Welcome to the End of Your Life," the evening will also feature music, a panel discussion, informational booths and an opportunity for people to fill out an advanced directive that will guide loved ones like the characters in the play. Notaries will be on hand as well. Fellow panelists include professors Peter Browning of Drury and Mary Newman of Missouri State University.
Mr. Nickell is experienced in all aspects of trust and estate planning. He has represented numerous families and individuals in structuring estate and succession plans. His trust and estate planning practice includes preparation of traditional estate planning documents such as revocable trusts, wills, powers of attorney, irrevocable life insurance trusts and designing and implementing more sophisticated estate planning techniques such as qualified personal residence trusts, charitable remainder trusts, family limited partnerships, gifting programs, generation-skipping planning, and private foundations.
