Lathrop Gage Represents a Major Entertainment Company in Sale of Mexican Subsidiary

Lathrop Gage attorneys Joe Medved (Corporate & General Business - Kansas City) and Wally Brockhoff (Corporate & General Business - Kansas City) served as lead counsel for a major entertainment company, the nation's second-largest operator of movie theatres, in its sale of Mexican subsidiary Grupo Cinemex to conglomerate Entretenimiento GM de Mexico S.A. de C.V.

Cinemex operates 44 theaters, most of which are located in the Mexico City market. The sale was completed this week and was reported to be valued at $315 million.

Mr. Medved, who chairs the firm's Business Division, focuses his practice in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and business transactions. Messrs. Brockhoff and Medved have represented clients in numerous M&A transactions, including asset purchases and sales, stock purchases and sales, mergers, joint ventures, tender offers, bank financings, public and private stock offerings, and public and private debt offerings.
