Lathrop Gage Welcomes Justin W. Whitney in Kansas
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (July 13, 2016) – Lathrop Gage today announced that Justin W. Whitney has joined the firm’s Wealth Strategies practice as Of Counsel in Overland Park, Kansas.
“As both a CPA and an experienced attorney, he will help us continue to achieve efficient results for our clients,” said Courtney Conrad, co-leader of Lathrop Gage’s Wealth Strategies practice. “We’re happy to have him join our team.”
As a Certified Public Accountant, Whitney focuses his practice on estate planning, tax planning, and drafting of trusts, wills and corporate documents. He regularly prepares basic and complex estate planning documents and implements sophisticated planning techniques on behalf of his clients. He also assists high net worth individuals and closely-held businesses with business succession planning and tax planning, including the formation of corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies, as well as structuring of corporate reorganizations and recapitalizations.
Formerly with Woner, Glenn, Reeder & Girard in Topeka, Kansas, Whitney is involved a variety of legal organizations including the Bench-Bar Committee for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Kansas as well as the Topeka Area Bankruptcy Council. He earned his juris doctor from Washburn Law School and a Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Law School.
