11/26/2014

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Nov. 26, 2014) – Lathrop Gage attorney Suzanne Block recently was awarded the 2014 H. Michael Coburn Award for Community Service by Legal Aid of Western Missouri.

The award recognizes those who have shown outstanding commitment to service, advocacy and their community. Block predominantly represents indigent, at risk families and children in Jackson County on behalf of the firm. She also spends a great deal of time mentoring Lathrop Gage associates through initial courtroom experiences.

Block’s passion for philanthropy and service is evident by her former service on the Board of Directors for Operation Breakthrough. Additionally, she served on the boards of Restart Homeless Shelter and the LEAP Foundation, which raises money and provides legal, tutoring and mentoring programs at Operation Breakthrough. She continues to be a successful attorney in addition to positively impacting those within the legal industry and community.
