Five Lathrop & Gage Attorneys Recognized by California Super Lawyers

LOS ANGELES (February 1, 2013) – Super Lawyers announced recently that it has named David Aronoff (Intellectual Property – Los Angeles), Lincoln Bandlow (Intellectual Property – Los Angeles), Carole Handler (Intellectual Property – Los Angeles), Beth Schroeder (Labor & Employment – Los Angeles) and John Shaeffer (Intellectual Property – Los Angeles) were named to its 2013 edition of the magazine for Southern California.

Aronoff has more than 20 years of experience litigating business cases including breach of contract, intellectual property, entertainment and media matters. He has represented and advised numerous business entities — including motion picture and television studios, production companies, broadcasters, internet and video game companies, music publishers and advertising agencies — in a wide variety of disputes, many involving copyright, trademark, right of publicity, unfair competition, trade secret, false advertising and related issues.

Bandlow practices sophisticated business litigation and specializes in litigating media, First Amendment, intellectual property and other entertainment related matters. He represents clients in the motion picture, television, publishing, broadcasting, internet and advertising fields.

Handler concentrates her practice in intellectual property, copyrights, intellectual property litigation, trademarks and antitrust. She is currently on the American Bar Association Publications Advisory Board for the Section of Antitrust Law, and vice-chair of the Visual Arts and Dramatic Works Committee for the Copyright Division of the Section of Intellectual Property Law.

Schroeder represents employers in all aspects of employment and labor law, including the defense of employment-related lawsuits involving wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination, wage and hour issues and related claims. Her practice also includes conducting employee training classes, drafting employee handbooks and other personnel forms and documentation, preparing employment-related agreements and auditing wage and hour compliance. Additionally, she provides extensive day-to-day counseling to help employers in the prevention of employment-related claims.

Shaeffer concentrates his practice in intellectual property and antitrust. He has significant trial experience, having litigated some of the nation’s largest and most challenging antitrust, product liability, intellectual property and environmental cases in both state and federal court. He serves as the partner in charge of the Lathrop & Gage Los Angeles office.
