Russell Jones and Jamison Shipman Speak at MACDDS Meeting

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (January 27, 2012) – Lathrop Gage partners Russell Jones (Tax – Kansas City) and Jamison Shipman (Tax – Kansas City) spoke at the Missouri Association of County Development Disabilities Services state association meeting on January 25. Jones and Shipman discussed a variety of legal issues that county developmental disabilities service organizations face, including statutory authority to act, conflicts of interest, and sovereign tort immunity.

Jones concentrates his practice in federal income taxation, emphasizing on the affairs of charitable and other tax-exempt organizations, corporate mergers and acquisitions, partnership and limited liability company issues, and large and small business planning. He has been selected among the Missouri/Kansas Super Lawyers, The Best Lawyers in America, and is Martindale-Hubbell “AV” rated.

Shipman’s practice specializes in all aspects of federal income taxation, including entity formation and dissolution, corporate reorganization, partnership and limited liability company issues, and tax disputes with the IRS.
