Our seventh-annual State of Litigation conference will feature Roger Cossack, a familiar face to sports enthusiasts as the legal analyst for ESPN and the lead commentator on major legal sports stories. Mr. Cossack will discuss his journey from practicing attorney to television legal analyst as well as the many sports stories he has covered. A trio of our insurance recovery attorneys will present “Settling the Big Case With Disputed Coverage.” Missouri Senator Kurt Schaefer, Kansas Senator Jeff King and Mary Birch will provide an analysis of legislative impacts on litigation. Lathrop & Gage’s Rick Bien will lead a panel of local in-house counsel on “Ethics, Litigation, Privilege and the In-House Counsel.” In addition, talented Lathrop & Gage attorneys will provide their perspective on the latest trends in litigation, including: social media in the workplace and other employment law updates, arbitration agreements, and e-discovery.

About the Keynote Speaker

As ESPN ’s one and only legal analyst, Roger Cossack is considered the leading commentator on sports and law. Since being hired by ESPN in 2003, he has covered all the major legal sports stories from Kobe Bryant to the steroid investigations of Major League Baseball. Prior to ESPN , he joined CNN in 1995 and was a legal analyst with the network for seven years. Among numerous other assignments during his tenure at CNN , he was the co-host of the award-winning show Burden of Proof. The New York Times, as well as other media organizations, has praised him for his clear and honest analysis of current news.
