Implementation of New Travel Authorization System Imminent

Beginning January 12, 2009, foreign nationals traveling to the United States for business or pleasure under the popular Visa Waiver Program will be required to use a new electronic screening system run by United States Customs and Border Protection.
The Visa Waiver Program is available to citizens of 34 countries that have high rates of compliance with U.S. immigration law. A person who uses the Program can travel to the United States for a visit of up to 90 days without first having to obtain a visa.
