Member Andy Ramirez (Health Care - Overland Park) has been re-appointed by the Kansas Supreme Court to serve on the Kansas Board for Discipline of Attorneys. Mr. Ramirez' term will expire June30, 2010.

The Board for Discipline of Attorneys is the adjudicative arm of the Kansas Supreme Court for discharge of its exclusive constitutional responsibility to supervise and discipline the state's attorneys. The board appoints hearing panels composed of three volunteer attorneys to conduct the trial-level proceedings in which a formal complaint has been filed alleging that a member of the state's bar has committed misconduct. The board also hears petitions for review of decisions by a hearing panel and performs other duties.

Mr. Ramirez is a member of the Executive Committee of Lathrop & Gage L.C. He concentrates his practice on the representation of community-based hospitals, and is a frequent speaker and author on topics concerning health care policy and hospital management.
