Joan Archer Featured in "Legal Issues Protecting Your Product"
Joan Archer (Intellectual Property - Kansas City) was featured as expert commentary in an article in the February 2009 edition of Midwest CEO magazine titled, "Legal Issues: Protecting Your Product." Along with an article summarizing recent IP case law, Ms. Archer was quoted on a quick "indemnification dos and don'ts."
"The overall expansion of intellectual property litigation has heightened interests in all aspects of protection and defense," she told the magazine. The article highlights various examples of IP scenarios that would call for different protective strategies.
Ms. Archer was named Outstanding Subcommittee Chair by the American Bar Association last year for her leadership in the bar, particularly for her work with the association's Expert Witness Committee. Her practice includes extensive litigation of IP and business litigation matters, including trademark, patent, unfair competition, and copyright cases, as well as complex business disputes . Her practice also includes counseling clients on trademark and copyright matters, including prosecuting applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and litigating trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings.
