View of Pike’s Peak
We selected his magnificent View of Pike’s Peak by George Caleb Bingham to mark our Colorado presence because it celebrates the frontier spirit of undaunted adventure and curiosity, set against a backdrop of unlimited possibilities. One of America's greatest genre painters, Bingham was born just five years after Lewis and Clark and the Corps of Discovery returned from their 1804-06 westward exploration.
