Kansas City, Mo. (July 18, 2007) – Joel Voran, CEO of Lathrop & Gage L.C. announced Rebecca B. Beal has joined the Kansas City, Mo., office as an associate in the real estate practice area.

Prior to joining the firm, Beal served as bond counsel for Kansas and Missouri Governments on tax-exempt and taxable bond financings as well as providing local municipalities legal advice regarding economic development initiatives.  During law school, Ms. Beal served as a law clerk for two law firms in Tulsa, Oklahoma and the Benton County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office in Bentonville, Arkansas.

Beal earned her bachelor’s degree from Baylor University in 2003 and her juris doctorate from the University of Tulsa College of Law, with highest honor, in 2006.  Beal is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers, Association for Women Lawyers and the American Bar Association.  Beal received a merit scholarship, CALI Award of Excellence, was an Oklahoma Bar Association Outstanding Student Award nominee, a member of the Phi Delta Phi and Order of the Curule Chair.  She was a senior staff member of the Energy Law Journal and a member of the Board of Advocates.
