Michele Gellis

In her general business litigation practice, Ms. Gellis works on a variety of cases involving general business disputes, condemnation and eminent domain, general civil litigation, debt enforcement and collection, as well as insurance coverage disputes, both locally and nationally. Before joining Lathrop & Gage, Ms. Gellis was an associate at the Tampa, Florida, law firm of Macfarlane, Ferguson & McMullen, where her practice included various commercial disputes, environmental defense, bankruptcy and real estate litigation, including quiet title actions, boundary and easement disputes, partition actions, and submerged land actions.

Before gaining admittance to the Florida Bar in 2003, Ms. Gellis served as a law clerk for the law firm of Hyde, Gomer & Derrick, a staff counsel office of Liberty Mutual Insurance Company. She also served as a summer associate for the Department of the Navy Office of General Counsel for the Naval Engineering and Facilities Command in Washington, D.C. in 2002, and as a summer associate for the Department of the Army Judge Advocate General Corp (JAG) in Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas, in 2001.
