Experience
Mr. Ellis devotes his practice to issues involving health care law, corporate and general business law, mergers and acquisitions, government relations, and insurance law.
Mr. Ellis focuses his practice on the representation of health care providers for a wide variety of matters including hospital general corporate law, corporate restructuring of diverse health care systems, government regulatory compliance, mergers of health care entities, restructuring of hospital-physician relationships, hospital medical staff matters, and the full range of legal concerns faced by hospitals and related business entities. He has assisted managed care systems including health maintenance organizations and preferred provider organizations on governmental relations issues, compliance with governmental regulation and the development of physician contractual relationships. He has represented physician groups and physicians in business organizational structuring and physician-hospital relationships. He has participated extensively in state and local government activities dealing with health care planning, policy development, insurance regulation and public health and welfare issues. Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Ellis served on the legal staff of the Kansas Insurance Department dealing with workers' compensation, agent licensing, consumer affairs, company admissions, and general insurance legal matters. Mr. Ellis is a trained mediator with the American Health Lawyers Association.
