Gregory S. Brown

Mr. Brown is of counsel in the corporate department. His practice emphasizes oil and gas exploration and development transactions, with substantial experience relating to the acquisition and development of oil and gas reserves. Mr. Brown provides acquisition and operational legal counsel with regard to numerous producing basins in the United States, including non conventional production such as coal-bed methane. He has substantial background regarding the federal income tax implications associated with such transactions.

Mr. Brown’s background also includes experience in the financing, formation, operation and liquidation of joint venture and partnership arrangements.  Additionally, Mr. Brown has had substantial experience in the representation of financial institutions, both domestic and foreign, providing loan production financing and other revolving credit facilities to the extractive industries.

Prior to entering private practice, he was a senior tax attorney with Sun Company in Dallas, Texas, and with The Superior Oil Company in Houston, Texas.  In such capacities, Mr. Brown participated in a number of acquisitions of oil and gas interests, both domestically and internationally.
