Experience
Mr. Myers devotes his practice to issues involving health care law, corporate and general business law, government relations, and wealth strategies law.
Mr. Myers focuses his practice on the representation of hospitals (including for profit, governmental and not-for-profit), a major metropolitan ambulance service, preferred provider organizations, physician hospital organizations, medical professional corporations, physician groups and similar organizations.
Mr. Myers has extensive experience in representing governmental hospitals and has served on the Board of a major metropolitan area hospital. His practice includes all aspects of a general health care practice, including Medicare fraud and abuse, the Stark Law, physician contracting, joint ventures, certificate of need, government regulatory compliance, hospital medical staff matters, and a full range of legal services faced by hospitals and related business entities. He has formed and represented preferred provider organizations and physician hospital organizations and has advised them on the antitrust issues associated with such organizations.
Mr. Myers is a trained mediator having completed the American Health Lawyers Association ADR Mediator Training and Advanced Mediation training. He is also a trained arbitrator, having completed the American Health Lawyers Arbitration Training-the Essentials of Arbitrating a Health Care dispute and has served on several arbitration panels.
Mr. Myers has served on the City Plan Commission of Kansas City, Missouri since 1991 and has been Chair of the Commission since 1998. This role has assisted Mr. Myers in developing his arbitration and mediation skills.
He is a past chair of the Lathrop & Gage Health Care Department.
