Andrew R. Ramirez

Andy Ramirez  is the Chair of the Business Division’s Health Care Department and served on the Executive Committee of Lathrop & Gage LLP. He is a frequent speaker and author on topics concerning Health Care policy and Hospital Management. He enjoys an outstanding reputation among his peers who have named him one of The Best Lawyers in America® in the specialty of Health Care law and is AV rated in Martindale-Hubbell®.

Mr. Ramirez  spends the majority of his professional time assisting Hospital and Pharmacy organization Directors, Trustees and Administrators as well as regional and national Health Care Associations and their members with a broad range of issues affecting the industry including Health Care Reform and Fraud and Abuse Compliance. He has negotiated numerous complex commercial transactions with an overlay of Health Care regulatory requirements.  He represents governmental and private Health Care Organizations.  His clients describe him as an exemplary attorney who strives to be their perfect legal partner.

Mr. Ramirez has been recognized for his public service including Chairing the  Kansas Civil Rights Commission; Chairing the Lawrence Douglas County Metropolitan Planning Commission; Serving as Judge pro tempore for the Municipal and Seventh Judicial District Court; Teaching as Adjunct Professor at the University of Kansas Law School. He is currently one of the longest serving members of the Kansas Supreme Court Board of Discipline, the body responsible for advising the court on the ethics and licensure of members of the Bar.
